Conference: A Jewish State – 75 Perspectives

At a conference convened by the Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI) in Jerusalem, leader of National Unity Party MK Benny Gantz said he would not enter the government, even if there was a peace agreement with Saudi Arabia. If the agreement is good, I will support it from the outside.”

He also discussed the recent attacks on Israel’s Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, saying: “The attack on the attorney general by government ministers and members of the Knesset are like terrorist acts designed to threaten her and prevent her from doing her job. I support her and her decisions all the way and condemn the unbridled attack against her.”

Referring to the legal reform, Gantz said, “I am not ready to compromise on anything, I am ready to reach agreements. Not willing to compromise on legal independence but willing to reach agreements on certain details such as the minimum majority for Basic Laws. Israel today is being harmed in every field, diplomatic, economic, social, everything. Gaps with Diaspora Jewry have grown.
