Analysis of President Trump’s (Truth Social) Posts During First 100 Days in Office: Israel Ranks High on the U.S. President’s Agenda.
How central is Israel to the foreign policy agenda of the President of the United States?
An analysis of Truth Social posts by U.S. President Donald Trump during the first 100 days of his current term (January 20 to May 3, 2025) compares mentions of Israel and keywords relating to Israel, to mentions of other countries.
The analysis, conducted by researchers at JPPI’s Diane and Guilford Glazer Information and Consulting Center, includes 1,276 textual posts published by Trump on Truth Social, his primary social media platform. The data was processed using AI tools.
Key Findings:
The topic of Israel (including Jews and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict) ranks fourth out of mentions of 14 countries – tied with Canada – and is mentioned more frequently than France and even more than Mexico, the southern neighbor of the United States.
The country with the most mentions is China. Following China are Britain, Russia-Ukraine (due to the ongoing war), then Israel and Canada. Next in line are Mexico, France, Germany, Greenland, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, and Turkey.
This analysis shows that Israel holds a prominent place in the foreign policy agenda of the U.S. president, even when compared to major countries, neighboring states, and global powers.
