In Israel’s Knesset, lawmakers are pushing a bill that would bar non‑Orthodox prayer at the southern section of the Western Wall.

The State of Israel and the Jewish world are living through a transformative period – one that carries a mix of risks and opportunities unlike anything in a generation. It calls for more than sound policy; it demands a grand strategy.

JPPI’s Founding President, Prof. Yehezkel Dror (z”l), passed away earlier this month. Next week, we will hold a conference in his memory, titled "A Grand Strategy for Israel" – a term he coined.

Antisemitism is the only issue that unites extremists from the populist right and the progressive left. The ancient hatred of Jews – which we hoped had vanished after the Holocaust – has reawakened with full force around the world....

This week, JPPI launched a broad public campaign in support of a “Thin Constitution,” aiming to turn it into a standard accepted by all parties ahead of the upcoming elections.

In response to developments on the ground, JPPI is enhancing its activity in the Center for Jewish Resilience. It will be led by a new team member, Major General Amir Eshel, a former Commander of the Air Force and Director General of the Defense Ministry.

Israel experienced a rare sense of elation with the release of all the living hostages. There is a ray of hope for an end to the war and the return of the remaining captives. Now we must redouble our efforts to heal the internal tensions among us. About two-thirds of Israelis believe that domestic social strife endangers us more than war with our enemies.

A particularly turbulent Jewish year has come to a close. Next week, it will be presented to Israel’s President and released to the media.

The government has chosen to expand the war and seize control of Gaza City, contrary to the professional judgment of the IDF and the wishes of much of the public. Tens of thousands of call-up orders have been sent out – including to my two sons and my son-in-law. They will go to battle, as they have in previous stints totaling hundreds of days.
