On Aug. 14, 2006, a United Nations-brokered ceasefire went into effect and ended the Second Lebanon War and 34 days of fighting between Israel and the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist organization.

Harvard is richly endowed with assets exceeding $50 billion. Nevertheless, it is in serious risk of bankruptcy. A moral bankruptcy. Will it wake up?

This war has shown us that no matter where a Jew lives, their identity and feeling of safety is connected to the State of Israel. That brings with it a responsibility that Israel cannot ignore.

While six million Jews were led to the slaughter without the ability to defend themselves, Israel is still a regional power  in pain but very much alive and vibrant.

The international community is paying close attention to events in Gaza. UN resolutions, mass demonstrations, innumerable speeches and statements from politicians of all stripes. Yet one response is curiously absent. There have been almost no offers to take in refugees from Gaza.
